CONTINUITY UPDATE :

Today I got the good news that =MassimilianoMarradi is interested in continuing the exposition in Italy, after our show in Lodz next year is finished. If Inter-Expo is interested, they are willing to make preparations for a second event over there!

Also... my great friend Jérome from France aka *WhItoU is building a society to promote artists, and he is gonna work with galleries as well. He's also anxious to look for a possibility to keep an Inter-Expo show, but this time in Marseille!

I hope to gather more information and details on this topic as soon as possible.

Hello fellow Photographers !

I've been going through some busy times, and to be honoust... I'm still going through em, but to make up for being away for so long, I've spent a lot of time on making a new webcam image with all the photos of the Lodz Art Center's factory halls. The photos were taken by ~mopas and ~PiotrWdowka. The awesome logo was made by *Krass62. Just take a look at the main page and scroll down to the webcam image to take a peek.

More news is following soon. Keep those photos coming people !
And don't worry if you don't get an answer or post right away. I'll be taking care of the notes in the right order according to date; and since I've been away for a while that may take some time.

BACK TO WORK :

Hi, everybody!!!

Thanks a lot for your patience. I was out for a moment and I'm still very busy but I will update our show's organization a bit.
First of all the exhibition will be taking place in June 2008 in the factory halls that belong to the Lodz Art Center. This is a wonderfull, pretty magical place in the city of Lodz-Poland. The big halls of the old textile factory create a vintage mood and feeling.
When the time is ripe we will make a selection from the pictures submited here. We will try to show as many pictures as possible but please be mercifull and don't expect us working 25 hours a day.
Some exterior pictures from the factories are in ~PiotrWdowka's gallery. Some photos from the interior will be posted today or tomorrow in my gallery.

We still didn't get any feedback nor answers from the DA staff and their puclic relations department. It seems that they are not interested in the co-organization of the show. It's a pitty but we'll do this with or without their support.

PRINTS :

Hi again

A few days ago I have spent eight hours in the photo lab trying to print my photos. I do it at least once a month. This time I was focussed on our exhibition's works. As every time I was surprised by how different the pictures look on the paper. Shiny monitors show us colours and contrasts on the screen that look very different from what they do look like when they are printed on paper. It is not lighting using it's own light.

SO.... because we are getting close to asking you to send your prints to Poland, I'd like to turn your attention to this problem: Please, try to print your photos now and do not wait until the last day. It may happen that some of you will not be happy with the quality of the prints that you'll receive.

Please, have you works printed and as big as possible.

THE SHOW FOR EVERYONE :

Hi,

I have to explain you the one and most important idea that is behind this project. All of this work is done to show to the world that photography doesn't only live on the internet fora.
It's a 'REAL LIFE' language, so E V E R Y O N E can be a participant.
E V E R Y O N E !!!!!! Sometimes I think that the comtemporary average viewer forgot that the photographs should be seen on the paper - Not on the shiny monitor.
Even more, we are all from different countries, different religions and different cultures, yet all of us take pictures which are easily comprehensible all over the world. So what is the language to use? English, Polish, Flemmish or just... a PICTURE !
Yeah... the P I C T U R E is the language that is shared by all human beings, so let us show to the world that we can all speak one language.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY IN A REAL GALLERY :

It is time to explain you the idea:

The show will take place in June 2008 in Lodz Poland.

are the three men that will be doing the main organization work for the exhibition.

We count on you too, to help us with the work (especially Poles, Germans, Czechs, Ukrainians and all the neighbouring countries)

Every participant can post up to 10 photos, no matter what kind of photo, category or size. We will remove only the bad quality works. Not any kind of pornography is allowed, so it will not be accepted.

The photos on this page will be showed in small view format to prevent showing watermarks in the thumbs and to disencourage here on this page. For comments and favs please visit the original work that is linked in the artist comments !

Please send us your submissions in a note. Send us the links, not the thumbcodes, and make sure you mention the category for every photo. This makes it easier for us to post the new submissions. It would also be nice if you don't submit all your photos at once. Send one or two photos per note. It' just a matter of keeping a bit of variety in the works currently displayed on the page. I'm sure you understand.

The photos will be shown in this gallery and then, in the begining of 2008 we will ask you to send us the chosen pictures on photo paper by mail, or the printable files by computer. In Poland the cost of one photo print (sized 30x40cm) plus passe-partout, is about $7. It is preferable to make the prints yourself though and send em over when the time is ripe.

The pictures will be exhibited on the walls of a former 19th century textile factory, that has now become an art gallery, located in one of Poland's big cities, Lodz.

After the show we'll pack everything together and maybe send it over to Mexico or any other place where someone is interested in continuing our work.

There is a possibility that some works will be sold directly at the show. In that case the author will be notified and the money will be transferred as mutually agreed.

Everyone - I repeat EVERYONE - can be a participant. We want to make a crosscut from photography worldwide, so everyone is welcome: amateurs, professionals, adults, youngsters, boys, girls, absolutely everyone, so grab your chance and submit your work !

These are the main rules of the Inter Expo. We are still working on it, so any suggestions are welcome.
